1. Introduction
Welcome to LingoFunLearn. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your data when you use our mobile application.
2. Information We Collect
We only collect the information absolutely necessary to provide the functionality of LingoFunLearn.
3. Account Information
When users sign in using Google/Firebase Authentication, LingoFun may receive:
- Display name
- Email address
- Authentication/user identifier
- Profile image (if supplied by identity provider)
Purpose: Authentication, account functionality, syncing learning progress, and leaderboard/profile functionality.
4. Learning Progress
Your learning data, including lesson completion, XP, streak, bookmarks, Qur'an last-read position, course selection, and learning goals, are stored both locally on-device and synced to Firebase Cloud Firestore for cross-device progression and leaderboards.
5. Microphone and Audio Recording
Microphone access is used only for pronunciation practice. Recordings are processed and stored locally on the device and are not uploaded to LingoFun servers, nor are they shared with third parties or AI services.
6. Qur'an Audio Streaming
Qur'an Bangla translation is provided by Dr. Abu Bakr Muhammad Zakaria (Source: QuranEnc.com). Audio features use verified CC0 recordings for supported Surahs (Source: Wikimedia Commons). Currently, 85 of 114 Surahs have verified CC0 audio. Audio is streamed directly and not used for tracking.
7. Third-Party Services
The app integrates with the following services:
- Google Sign-In & Firebase Authentication: To provide secure user login and identity.
- Cloud Firestore: To store and sync user learning progress and profiles.
- Wikimedia Commons: Used solely to stream CC0 public domain Qur'an audio. Wikimedia does not receive your account identity.
Note: Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics are not installed in the app.
8. How We Use Information
Collected information is used exclusively to operate, maintain, and improve the app's educational features.
9. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
10. Data Security
We use industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS) to secure data in transit. Server data is protected by Firebase security rules.
11. Data Retention
We retain your account and server data while your account is active or as necessary to provide the service.
12. Account and Data Deletion
You may request deletion of your LingoFunLearn account, stored profile information, and server-side learning progress. After a valid deletion request, account-associated data is deleted within a reasonable stated period. Requests are generally processed within 30 days. See our Account Deletion page for instructions.
13. Children's Privacy
The app is designed for general audiences and educational purposes. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent.
14. International Users
By using the app, you consent to the transfer and processing of your data in the regions where our cloud providers (Google/Firebase) operate.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Changes will be posted here with an updated "Last Updated" date.
